Literacy Gold has been transformative in supporting our learners, especially those facing significant reading challenges. The programs tailored diagnostic assessments and engaging, scaffolded activities have enabled us to identify gaps quickly and deliver personalised interventions that truly make a difference. Our learners’ motivation and confidence have soared alongside their reading progress, making Literacy Gold an essential part of our literacy provision.

Individual pupil stories

Learner A’s reading journey was severely impacted by dyslexia, causing difficulties in decoding and fluency that limited their engagement with reading. Since beginning Literacy Gold, Learner A has benefited from its structured, multi-sensory approach and targeted phonics practice. Over this academic year, their reading age has advanced by 8 months, and they now approach reading with enthusiasm rather than frustration. This progress has boosted their overall confidence and willingness to participate in lessons.

Learner B struggled with comprehension and retention, which affected both academic work and self-esteem. Literacy Gold’s focused vocabulary and comprehension modules have given Learner B the tools to break down texts more effectively. As a result, Learner B has shown significant improvements in understanding and summarising texts, with a 10-months increase in reading age within this academic year. This progress has been reflected in their improved classroom engagement and independent reading habits.
